NARRATIVE ODDS
interactive sculpture, 2003

Narrative Odds is an interactive analogue mixed media work which looks at the potential of shifting images to convey and alter narratives. This assumes when different images are displayed together new stories always emerge. Mounted on the wall are three cubes, each of which contains six different images, one on each side. Only one image on each cube relates thematically to one image on another cube, creating six obvious “stories”. Spectators are invited to switch around the cubes to change the images displayed to create new narratives. Even when seemingly disparate images are displayed together, connections are made and narratives are constructed.
